We just spent the last 2 weeks off. For the last few weeks of the year, either Heather or Rob was home at least 1 workday during the week, and since the 15th, Heather or Rob was home all day. We think that Mr. Buster got really REALLY used to us being around.
I don’t think Mr. Bust-ti-tude was very happy about this situation. He seemed pretty bummed when we went to work last Tuesday.
Last Thursday, I left a pair of socks on the floor while I was on the computer. The next thing I hear is a “SLURP!” and the ‘Bus lickin’ his chops. The next thing I see is him licking his gums, and see only 1 sock. This is at 10pm — so we put in a call to the Emergency Vet hotline.
Vet Recommendation: Get Dog, Turkey Baster, and 1/3 Cup Hydrogen Peroxide. Squirt Peroxide into dog via baster. Wait 5 minutes for dry heaves; 20 minutes for sock upheaval. If not, repeat. If 2nd time doesn’t work; bring him in.
First time worked like a champ. I no longer have a sock.
And we have a new laundry hamper, and rule for clothes lying around.
Way to ring in the new year.
