The TomKat Hubbard Fiasco

This has to be one of the more intriguing things that I have seen in a while.

Bennifer didn’t do it for me, and the whole Brangelina thing is weird.
The only thing that kept me from delving right into the TomKat gossip was waiting for the Michael Jackson trial to be over.
And now it is.
So here we go.

Tom Cruise has always been rather weird to me. I thought he was a somewhat good looking guy, but never the hottie that most girls swooned over. He’s short, and had some funky teeth. And was into that Scientology crap. I didn’t get the hype.

And all of a sudden, he’s now in luuu-rve with Katie Holmes. Meh. Whatever.
Now, they’re all over the place, and they’re PDA-ing their way around Europe (and I don’t mean Personal Data Assistant, either).

They’re all over the globe, gushing about themselves, and Scientology. Which is a little freaky. I think that what bothers me about this, is the scariness of the whole Scientology religi-cult. It’s a loosely based sci-fi religion. Don’t get me wrong. I love Star Wars, and Star Trek, and mutant ants on a rampage. But to base my faith in a higher power on it; not so much.

Not to mention the oddities and idiosyncracies of the people I know who accept these beliefs. Dr. Kaup, Kirstie Alley, John Travolta, Pricilla Presley — I would not consider these individuals to be expert opinions…and then you have the damn Basic Study Manual — the most expensive coloring book I have ever had to read/clear/study/quote.

Then, about a week ago, Tom decided to go ape$hit on Matt Lauer on the Today show. Which was freaky — Matt Lauer stayed objective, and Tom went psycho. I now live in Super-Bizzarro world. Officially.
A great blog on this is here…I couldn’t have done a better job.

I’ll leave you with this; apparently there is a questionnaire that you need to answer via a polygraphy-type of instrument to begin your “clearing”. So for those of you who have castrated others or smother babies on a regular basis; be careful — you might not be on the “IT” list.

Have a great day!

The 80’s are Back.

So the 80’s have come back and flashed me a good one.

There’s now a new show, called “Hit Me Baby One More Time” on NBC.
The basic premise is that they get 5 bands from the 80’s & 90’s to come back and play their Top hit, and then play a song popular today. However, the catch is now they’re 20 years older than they were when they were popular. And some of them have aged horribly. So last week, they had Arrested Development, Flock of Seagulls, Tiffany, Cece Peniston, and Loverboy on. This week is Vanilla Ice, The Motels, The Knack, Haddaway, and Tommy Tutone. Stay tuned next week for Wang Chung (no — seriously — they’re on next week)

And my old fave radio station, Alice 103.3/93.7 has been altered. It was playing 80’s/90’s/current adult rock/pop hits, with minimal rap. It now is MP 103; a play on MP3. Its tagline is “Imagine a radio station and IPod combined — you can call us and let us know what you like; just not what to play”.

It’s now a random playlist, and there are quite a few songs I know all the words to — they’re just not-so-good songs. Here’s an article on it here….

“If there was a problem; yo — I’ll solve it.
Check out the hook while my DJ revolves it”

Home Improvement

So yeah; it has been a while since we’ve updated the bloggernaut.

We spent the weekend of 5/21 helping out with a Habitat for Humanity house in Hinesburg, VT. Some of Rob’s co-workers went with us; Rob spent the day doing vinyl siding; Heather installed insulation & drywall. Afterwards, we went out & saw Star Wars, Revenge of the Sith. Very very cool. But if you’re not a Star Wars buff, you might not think it as cool as we did.

Next weekend was Memorial Day weekend; very fun. Gary & Julie came to visit for the weekend; Rebecca, Selden & Vatter stopped by on Saturday night. Sunday night was Selden’s annual-ish Memorial Day party. A good time.

This weekend Heather’s parents were up to help with the shed. You can check out the photos on the alternate blog, Jolinko.

Gardens are doing well; we see signs of onions, beets, lettuce, and squash. Yummy times are hopefully ahead. Have a good one.
