It’s Amazing how Much you Can do Inside when It rains

This week was good.

We got the plumber to install baseboard heating in the basement.
We finished painting and most of the electrical in the 2 new rooms.

David-Roo now understands that while taking pills are not fun, its important NOT to spit them out. My daffodils are blooming, and the tulips are on their way.

DMB’s new album Stand Up, is available May 10th.
Guster finished their album, and will be making a summer tour.

(Pictures of inside & outside will come within a week)

Have a great week!

Primed and Ready…or Not

We’ve had a busy week.

Drywall guy finished on Wednesday; we now have a first coat of primer on all downstairs walls. We’ll finish and painting this week, and trying to get the plumbing and flooring installation coordinated.

This weekend Heather spent the night with her Girl Scout troop at the Montshire museum. While she was gone, Rob raked the lawn, and planned his shed. This week he attends a leadership conference in Charlotte, NC; General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products’s corporate headquarters.

Here’s a photo of a Veery. We’ve been trying to get these to visit our bird feeder, and Heather got to see one while taking the girls on a hike Sunday morning around 9am.

We have had a lot of fun with our birdfeeders this winter, watching our feathery friends visit us. We’ve seen pine grosbeaks, purple finches, gold finches, woodpeckers, nuthatches, chickadees, cardinals, bluejays, sparrows, and juncos. This spring, we set out oranges to try to attract Baltimore Orioles. We’ll let you know how that goes.

Our crocuses are out and in full bloom. Enjoy the spring sprouts!!

April Showers bring Damp Drywall…

Photos of drywall and painting will be coming later. It has been too damp for drywall mud to set in 3 days, so we won’t be painting this weekend. You’ll have to wait until later for crazed painting updates. I do hope that things go well, and that we can be done with the walls, floors, and ceilings during mud season, so that garden season is free.

Today we took the cats to the vet. Clean bill of health. Here’s a photo of our two fuzzy little punkins. We love them both so much.
Maggie is the black one on the right.
David is the white & gray one on the left.

Thanks to everyone who has visited the site so far. Especially to Tom, who even mentioned us on his blog. Also, thanks to everyone who has asked questions. Here are some popular ones, and the answers…

Q: What is a breadtangle of pizza?
A: It is a quasi-obscure reference used during a Homestar Runner cartoon. Technically, it is one of those rectangular pieces of sheet pizza that is served in every High School cafeteria. It is initially used in Teen Girl Squad 8; you can reference a transcript here…

Q: You went to Mexico?
A: Yes. In February; a Carnival cruise around the Mexican Riviera, with stops in Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo San Lucas. Mucho fun. Wish we were back. Seriously.

Q: What’s up with the house?
A: We’re finishing a portion of the basement. 2 rooms — one a craft/activity/storage room, the other a TV and bar room. We’ll put up some before/after photos once its painted.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend. Stay dry!!
